I received this blender as a gift about 15 months ago - it has performed flawlessly since day one...I have used it at least once a day to make my breakfast smoothie...and it performs without a hitch. Crushed ice is absolutely no problem.
I simply looked for the best blender I could find for the lowest price, and hit the jackpot with this one. The wave action really works well for crushing ice and frozen fruit.
The "wave-action" design is what makes it so bad. Yes, it helps to mix things up better...If you want to take the lid off to add things as it is running...it shoots the liquid mixture out and all over the counter.
I searched for a blender for awhile. The price ranges were all over the place. I finally decided to get this little guy because it's lightweight, offered a "wave" action and was inexpensive. I absolutely love it!
Yes, it crushes ice really well, but the screw-on bottom can be VERY messy if you accidentally get it loose while taking the blender off the base. Everything just comes gushing out the bottom.
